What is a Flexible Partial Denture?
It is a soft and bendable oral item which is made primarily using nylon. A flexible denture can be taken off and is a lot less rigid compared to many other options. It blends in naturally with your gums, which makes them barely noticeable.
Nylon resin is a thermoplastic that is highly adaptable with lesser chances of breaking. They are softer and lighter, making them a lot more comfortable. They are a popular alternative for those who do not like acrylic or metal dentures.

Patient-First Approach
Our prosthetists are trained and taught to take note of all the key details. We do our best to provide oral appliances that are customised to your needs and provide great satisfaction. Patients can even contact us after the handover if they need any further guidance in using them.
Step Process: What to Expect
FBA Dental Services always aspires to make things easier for the patient and provide more clarity along the way. Here is how we create the right flexible dentures for you.
Consultation
The prosthetist will ask you plenty of key questions to see if you are fit to receive dentures or not. Do not be disheartened if they do not feel you are ready for the denture yet, as they will still do their best to offer another good solution.
Collecting Impressions
Once you have been approved to receive your flexible partial denture, the prosthetist will take an impression of your teeth. This is done in the first meeting itself in most cases. In the following sessions, your bite will be taken to see if your mouth structure is compatible with our wax designs.
Try-ins/Trial
Next, you will be given a trial prosthetic and asked for feedback. This is done to check if they are comfortable. Do not hesitate, and let us know any issues that you are facing with the trial piece. It will help us make corrections to provide you with a better version soon.
Final Fitting
Based on our observations and your inputs, a final version will be created. The fitting and all other formalities will be carried out until both of us are satisfied with it. Then the flexible dentures are handed over to you, and after-care instructions are also provided.
The precise number of days it will take from the first meeting to the handover will vary slightly by patient, depending on various factors. Depending on your unique needs, our prosthetists will have to adapt their methodologies accordingly to give you the best oral appliance possible.
When do We Recommend Flexible Partial Dentures?
These oral items are great for many patients, but not for everyone. We are likely to suggest these dental appliances in the following cases
- Missing 1-6 Teeth
- Needed a good aesthetic solution
- Patients are apprehensive towards or not suitable for surgery
- Patients do not like a rigid oral item
- Want to avoid metal clasps
- Are allergic to acrylic or metal alloys
- If gaps between teeth are not too large
If you have any other unique needs, let our prosthetists know so they can better judge your situation and offer the right solution.
- After Care
After Care and Continued Support
Do not think that we are going to ditch you after handing over the dentures. On the contrary, we even encourage our patients to remain in touch with us after receiving them. New issues can always arise, so it helps to stay connected.Â
- The First Week
It will take some time for your mouth and body to adapt to the foreign item. It is normal for patients to experience the following issues
- Initial struggles while speaking
- May feel slightly awkward having a new item in your mouth all the time.
- More saliva in the mouth
- General discomfort and irritation while getting adjusted
- Sore spots
- Guidelines to Keep Flexible Dentures in Better Condition
Getting a prosthetic is quite normal, especially with age. Sometimes you may have to use multiple dentures during your lifetime. Taking good care of oral items will help you keep hold of them for longer.
- Daily Care Tips
- Rinse the prosthetic daily (or more) to remove food particles or stains on it.
- You can use soap if allowed by your prosthetist, but wash the appliance properly to remove soap residue.
- Always remove them before sleeping.
- They should not be exposed to bleach, detergents or boiling water as they can weaken the denture.
- If allowed by your prosthetist, you can soak them at night using a dental solution. Just remember to wash them once before you use them again.
- Brush daily using non-abrasive toothpaste.
- Adjustments & Follow-ups
Oftentimes, even after the handover, minor adjustments can still be necessary. You are even more likely to face this if you are getting dentures for the first time. This is why follow-ups are important. Keep the following things in mind
- You can still reach out to us after you’ve received the oral apparatus.
- Preserve all receipts and other documents carefully.
- If the initial discomfort is excessive, you should let us know.
- Pay attention to the range of motion within your mouth. If it does not improve with time, changes may be needed.

Real Reviews From Real Users Sharing Their Journey With Us
Dr. Francois is very easy going, he really understood my concerns and reassured me that there wasn’t anything to worry about by getting dentures made for my father. He constantly reassured my father through the whole process and made a immaculate full denture. My Father hasn’t stopped smiling since he got his full se if dentures from Francois at FBA Dental Services. Once again thank you Francois, we both really appreciate your time, patience and flexibility.

How long do flexible partial dentures last?
It varies depending on how well you maintain them and the quality of their design, but usually you can expect to have them last around 5 to 7 years.
Can I eat normally with flexible partial dentures?
Yes, but it takes a while before your mouth and body get used to them. To make the transition easier, eat softer foods at the beginning before slowly introducing harder ones into your diet. You can also mash and break food items into smaller fragments before eating them.

It varies depending on the clinic and the specifications of the oral appliance, but usually you can expect to receive them in around 3-6 weeks.
